Chickpea Chocolate Spread
Need more protein in your breakfast/snack? Try this chocolate spread recipe that is SUGAR FREE, DAIRY FREE, NUT FREE, LOW FAT… but high in protein and fiber!
What you will need: Oven, strainer, blender/food processor, paper towel
- 1 can/pouch of chickpeas
- 6 Medjool dates
- 1/2 Cocoa powder
- 1 cup hot water
Next steps - Drain, rinse and dry the chickpeas.
- For a nutty flavor, roast chickpeas in the oven at 425°F/220°C for 30 minutes.
- Blend with dates, cocoa and hot water until creamy consistency.
- Storage in a jar and spread away!
